Design Makeover for New Centaur Catalogue
Following the successful relationship developed during the design of the Centaur website, Studiografik Design were chosen to lead the complete revamp of the Centaur product literature.
The new catalogue has been useful at every step of the marketing and sales cycle, supporting the technical sales team and educating clients about Centaur innovations in cable management systems and trunking.
A Straightforward Approach
Presenting a wide range of cable management systems designed for diverse situations and applications required a structure which conveyed the extensive information in easily digested chunks. Specifiers need to self-select between products to find the system best suited to their individual project needs. To be able to easily identify the components an uncomplicated approach to content and photography was concieved, which clearly set out the best fit system and products for different circumstances.
To easily identify the different systems, a consistent cover design was styled.
Individual components were photographed to emphasis the quality of manufacture.
Layout and Format
Following a strategic briefing which looked at the current market position of Centaur's existing literature, a few rules emerged which we're to underpin the design of the catalogue. Product photography was to reflect the versatility of each system, with emphasis placed on the ease of installation. The illustrative elements would be reinforced by text that would expand on the values and benefits of each individual system.
Clearly Defined Components
Each system contains a set of integrated and related components vital in some capacity to the efficient installation and protection of cables. A crucial factor in project proposals is the number and cost of each component. This is critical for specifiers. Each part has to be accounted for before fitting to prevent project delays. Listing each part number and identifying the component with a simple line drawing is crucial to project management and complete project inventory.
To convey the flexible and innovative way the multi-compartment system works a mock trunking layout was created and photographed.
Each trunking component is given its own page and collated with all the individual parts, with line drawing, part number and description for quicker identification.
For Centaur the production of their new catalogue marked another important stage in the updating and integration of marketing collateral as part of their on-going brand development. In a highly competitive and innovative market, maintaining design values and consistency across all business media is fundamental for productive marketing and sales.
